About the Project

The Client

Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) is a Regional Tourism Organisation that plays a crucial role in promoting the Cairns and Far North Region as a travel destination. The Far North is one of Australia’s most diverse regions, spanning 380,000 square kilometres, from Cardwell to Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands through to the Gulf Savannah inland. TTNQ’s marketing efforts have been successful in attracting 2.3 million visitors annually, generating significant revenue and helping to sustain thousands of jobs in the region.

Bang Media was tasked with creating a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for TTNQ. The key priorities for the client were to improve consumer search visibility, increased website traffic and heightened brand Share of Voice (SOV). Also of high importance was making sure that best practice SEO guidelines were being both met and followed to ensure long-term success.

Bang Media delivered a comprehensive SEO & Paid Search Ads strategy and continue to manage this with excellent results.

Impressed by their creative digital strategies and their commitment to the region, Tourism Tropical North Queensland engaged with Bang Media in early 2020 to consult on digital marketing, looking to maximise the exposure of TTNQ’s digital footprint, impressive content catalogue and grow the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef consumer facing brand.Despite the historic challenges facing Tropical North Queensland tourism industry, the collaboration with Bang Media has generated tremendous results in terms of organic search and search marketing results. In a crowded domestic marketplace where every region is fighting for a limited number of domestic travellers, despite border closures and lockdowns, more eyeballs than ever are being reached by TTNQ’s digital footprint, with over a million new web users being recorded on cairnsgreatbarrierreef.com for the first time ever in the 20-21 financial year. We’re excited about our ongoing work with Bang Media, continuing to the reach and conversion of domestic travellers, and eventually international visitors once again!
